Fiona Rogerson – Perinatal and Trauma Counselling

Counselling Supervision

Finding the right supervisor can be challenging, I get it. Finding someone that can support you in growing into the counsellor that YOU envision should be your priority.

Professional individual and group supervision for counsellors and therapists with an ACA accredited Supervisor, with expertise in perinatal trauma and mental health, trauma, and private practice business development.

Approach

I am an ACA registered supervisor. My approach to counselling supervision is based on the RISE UP model of supervision, encompassing:

  1. Review of professional practice
  2. Effective management of client cases
  3. Development of therapeutic and professional skills
  4. Create awareness of counsellors’ own responses to their counselling work
  5. Promotion of self-care and resilience within the role
  6. To deepen skill sets and knowledge, so supervisees can become better practitioners

Individuals

Individual supervision sessions are tailored to meet the specific and individual needs of each supervisee and may change over time, as the needs of the supervisee change. This format allows you to build a strong supervisory relationship with me as your supervisor, is more in-depth, and is more focussed on you. This form of supervision is the most laser-focussed and will often yield the greatest benefits to your personal development as counsellor. Individual supervision may include:

  • A focus on clinical issues, such as reflecting on clients and client dilemmas, and working with specific therapeutic strategies and dynamics.
  • Working on skill development and connecting theory to practice.
  • Stress and well-being management.
  • Debriefing or emotional support about incidents that have occurred with clients.
  • Individually focused skill development on supervision related topics.

Group

Group supervision for individuals.

Group supervision for agencies or organisations allows agencies/organisations to actively support and resource their staff in a cost effective manner, increasing skill levels and staff morale and reducing worker burnout and staff turnover.

Group supervision sessions enable group members to:

  • Reflect on clinical and client related issues and dilemmas
  • Manage their work-related stress.
  • Improve their well-being and therefore, their functioning.
  • Better manage difficult clients, client behaviours or other challenging situations in the workplace.
  • Identifying additional training needs which can then be delivered informally within the group setting.
  • Reflect on work and work practices.
  • Share their knowledge and skills in a safe and productive environment.
