Jo joined my team early in 2022 after an extensive search to bring in a therapist to allow me to better serve new and existing clients by reducing wait times for appointments. It wasn’t an easy decision to bring someone into the fold, as I deeply value the relationships I create with my clients from the moment they first contact me. I needed to find someone that aligned closely to my values, my mission and my vision for serving the clients I serve. I needed to find someone who not only worked similarly to me therapeutically, but also someone who I felt would connect to others in the same way I do – with authenticity. When I met Jo, the pieces of the puzzle came together like magic… and she has proven to be the perfect fit.
In her own words, Jo is somewhat of an idealist and a dreamer, with a healthy dose of reality thrown in for good measure. She works to share her knowledge with others as they embrace their own ways of being and reaching their complete and full potential. She provides a heart-centred space for her clients to explore with creativity, and connect their relationship with themselves as being the basis for their lives and livelihoods.
As a woman, a daughter, a mother, a partner, a therapist, there have been many challenges that Jo has had to overcome. She has experienced deep loss, pain and grief which has given her the gift of empathy, compassion and understanding. She is a big believer that we are all learning and works in progress as we grow in working on ourselves, so that we can be our best selves. The more she learned in her own journey, the more she wanted to bring her knowledge and skills to others.
As part of my team Jo is here to support you and guide you toward finding healing and joy again. She brings 14 years of counselling experience in the areas of perinatal anxiety, depression, perinatal loss and bereavement, relationships and infertility. She works through an integrative psychodynamic approach to counselling, utilising a range of therapeutic tools including EMDR and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Jo sees women, men and couples face-to-face in Stirling, Western Australia, as well as online via Zoom.
