Britt
Meet Britt
From the moment I met Britt, I knew she would bring something special to our team. She has a way of making people feel instantly safe in her presence, and a deep understanding of what it’s like to lose your footing in early parenthood – to love your family deeply but still feel disconnected, uncertain, or not quite like yourself.
Before becoming a counsellor, Britt spent more than fifteen years supporting families as a professional nanny. She worked closely with parents and children through all the highs and lows of family life and witnessed firsthand how our early experiences shape the way we relate, respond, and care for one another. Those years gave her an intimate understanding of family dynamics, attachment, and the invisible load parents carry.
Britt’s path into perinatal and trauma counselling began in 2020 when she was birth partner for her best friend. Bearing witness to the power, vulnerability, and emotion of that experience deeply affected her and set her on a new path. Not long after, she began studying counselling with the clear intention of supporting parents as they navigate the complexities of pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood.
Today, Britt works with individuals and couples to help them make sense of what they’ve been through and to find their way back to steadiness, connection, and self-trust. Her work focuses on the moments where trauma, relationship strain, and loss of identity meet – helping clients to understand themselves and each other with compassion rather than shame.
Britt’s approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply trauma-informed. She draws on evidence-based frameworks including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). She is also trained in our RISE approach to healing from birth and perinatal trauma, which brings together relational, somatic, and integrative methods for consistent, holistic care across the practice.
What stands out most about Britt is her steady belief in her clients’ capacity to heal. She brings curiosity, presence, and care into every session, helping parents and couples rediscover their resilience, their connection, and their sense of who they are – both individually and together.
Britt works with individuals and couples from our Highgate space on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and online with clients across Australia via Zoom.
